Wisconsin's John Muir: an exhibit from the Wisconsin Historical Society
Commemorating the centennial of the National Park Service, the traveling display "Wisconsin's John Muir: An Exhibit Celebrating the Centennial of the National Park Service" explores Muir's youth in Wisconsin, his advocacy for national parks and his views on environmental issues such as logging, hunting and climate change.
The Mercer Public Library will host this traveling exhibit from the Wisconsin Historical Society from April 17 until June 9, 2018. Visitors are welcome to view the exhibit during normal library hours. The exhibit consists of 8, double-sided panels featuring facsimile images from Muir's manuscripts from the Wisconsin Historical Society's archives, along with interpretive texts and some supplemental materials from the Mercer Library.
