Amy Carlson has been visiting Mercer, WI for 50 years. Diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2012 at age 44, her career as a construction program manager was interrupted. She has turned her attention to learning and advocating for People with Parkinson's. Along the way she has learned a lot about managing her healthcare, living in the present, and fighting the symptoms of her chronic condition.

Amy speaks to support groups around the country, teaches specialized exercise classes in Pasadena, CA for People with Parkinson’s and other neurological conditions at Lineage Dance. She recently attended the Parkinson’s Policy Forum in Washington DC with her mother Rita Herman, where they advocated with Senator Ron Johnson and Senator Dianne Feinstein for increased funding for neurological medical research via the NIH and the DoD.

Amy is an ambassador for the Davis Phinney Foundation and will be providing free materials from the Davis Phinney Foundation for managing Parkinson’s Disease at the meeting.
