The Friends of the Mercer Library recently sent out their 2017 membership drive mailing. Please consider becoming a member or renewing your membership with a donation.
The Friends of the Library provide funding for many of the fun things we do here at the library, including most of our public programming, new furniture, equipment, and much more. They also host several events each year including their summer Pie Social, Used Book Sale, and annual Fall Celebration.
If you aren't a member and didn't receive a renewal form in the mail, stop by and pick one up at the library or download a membership form here.
The Friends of the Mercer Public Library is a support organization dedicated to making your library the best it can be. Each year the Friends supply funding for items that are outside the normal operating budget of the library, including programming for children and adults. Since 2001, the Friends of the Mercer Library have raised over $163,000 to support our library!
In the past few years, the Friends have also contributed over $50,000 toward the construction of our library addition. The success of the Friends depends on its members, including all those who contribute to our annual membership drive. A membership is inexpensive, and is an easy way to support your library.

The Friends of the Mercer Public Library presented library director Teresa Schmidt with a check for the library's Building Fund. The Friends contributed over $50,000 toward the Mercer Library expansion project, and have continued to support the library addition with the purchase of tables and chairs for our meeting room, a new fireplace insert, storage shelving, and plans for new cabinetry in the director's office.
The Friends of the Mercer Library host programs and activities throughout the year, and use the proceeds of their work to support many library activities. In the past, the Friends have supported programming for children and adults, purchased equipment and materials for the library, and sponsored several holiday activities.

The three chapters are narrated by Mitch Babic's children, Kurt Babic and Michelle DeSmet.
This DVD was commissioned by Dr. Nils Olson, longtime Mercer physician, and donated to the library for resale. The DVD sells for $20, and all proceeds support the library's building fund.
