The Mercer Area Community Planning (MACP) project began in October, 2016, with a meeting at the Mercer Public Library that included representatives from several Mercer-area organizations. We wanted to start a conversation among the many town and county departments, community volunteer groups, non-profits, and other interested residents. Our goal: to identify the Mercer area's strengths and to build on those strengths to create a stronger, more cohesive community.

This process is open to anyone in the community. We hope to have input from as many community members and organizations as possible. For more information on how you can get involved, or to get on our MACP email list to be notified of upcoming meetings and activities, call library director Teresa Schmidt at 715-476-2366.

At their last meeting, the Mercer Area Community Planning committee renamed themselves Mercer Area Connections (MAC) to better describe their goal: to encourage local organizations and individuals to communicate and work together towards their goals.

MAC will meet on Wednesday, April 5th at 10:00am to discuss the results of the community survey conducted in January-February, and to plan a community social event in May. All are welcome to attend. See the meeting documents below for more information:

March 8, 2017 meeting minutes

It's been about six weeks since we sent our Community Aspirations survey into the community, so it's time for our group to get back together again, take a look at the results, and decide where to go from here. We've scheduled a meeting for Wednesday, March 8th at 12:00 noon here at the Mercer Library, and we hope you can join us.
As of today, we've had about 81 unique responses to the survey. (There appear to be a few duplicates.) Most of those have been submitted online, but about 15 or so were submitted in paper either at the library or at one of our other drop-off locations. We've compiled them all into a spreadsheet, and you can view those results here.
All are welcome to attend the committee's next meeting on March 8th. For more information, call the library at 715-476-2366.
